How do you launch a product world wide to a niche such as the tattoo industry? Meta approached us with this task for their premium, custom built workstation for tattoo parlours – the first product in a range of many to come, they said. We created a communication strategy of how 7 international artists will promote this product, that will transform the tattooing process of tattoo artist. We planned how digital channels will be used – first and foremost by designing a engaging website that returned impressive results: 21000 page views from more than 115 countries in two weeks.

The website first goal is to sell the product but with a big impact into the tattooist global tribe. It’s aimed for an interactive experience where they can see the product explained, easily accessible to customise and buy and access to top of class tattooists content. The brand, product and online presence is 100% Made in Portugal (yes, right next to Spain) for the world. Presenting seven artists and their life stories, the Workstation section is the central piece of the website. The product is introduced and explained with dozens of features segmented videos that the user explores on scroll.

Lovely, but does it sell?

Yep, of course. On every point of the website the user can buy and customize the product with several accessories. The store flow suggests preferred configurations on a simple and fast process. Ireland, Romania, UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Switzerland and Spain are just a few countries served. And it’s a big boy, DHL loves to carry these next to your door, you should try it.

Fingerprint vs iPencil

The custom Meta Script was designed on an iPad Pro (now for sale) + iPencil specifically for the brand and website. We might be using the iPencil here just for a more professional copy, in reality, we used our fingerprints to draw it just because it’s a pain to charge. This gave the quirkiness and ink-buttery taste we were looking for. Delicious… we regret nothing.
